"What I am conveying through the spent figure of the Hulk with Venus surfing him ashore can be interpreted in a several ways.

It can be seen as the fallen nature of patriarchy and it's obvious show of masculine strength.

It may suggest the debilitation of the cultures and economies of the traditional world giants.

It may also represent the power of pure beauty and feminine strength not through brute force but rather through elegance and delicate sophistication.

The painting 'The Hulk' which measures 5 feet by 5 feet (154 x 154 cm) is a wonderfully huge pastiche of Botticelli's Renaissance masterpiece 'The Birth of Venus' and the Hulk of American cartoon culture. It's a play on colours and a play on contrast. Beauty pitted against the beast. Refined European art pitted against American 'bubblegum' comics. The suave against the vulgar."
