Finland is the land of water and winds. We have 1,100 km of sea shore and our inland has over 57,000 lakes. Winds are everywhere. The spring wind brings light and warmth after the long winter. The gentle summer wind carries scents of forests, meadows and nightless nights. The autumn wind delivers the message of darkening days and the approaching end of the growing season. In winter the frosty breeze bites your cheeks and drives us to seek shelter, while again waiting spring to come. I have painted the landscapes and atmospheres of the world for decades. After all, my homeland is always the most precious.
