Ann Marie Brown

Canadian painter Ann-Marie Brown has spent years mastering the art of painting in oil and wax.

The starting point for her paintings is the physical world that surrounds us.Individual works articulate the fullness possible within an encounter, while bodies of work weave narratives that encourage conversations about contemporary issues.

Ann-Marie's work has been exhibited across the United States and Canada, and has been included in public, private and corporate collections in both countries. She was included in The Encaustic Works 2012 Exhibition in Print featuring "twenty-nine of the most exciting artists working in encaustic today". The paintings available here were completed during a 2017/2018 residency in Helsinki Finland, at the ARTSU studio at Aalto University.

"She paints from the eyes of compassionate experience, witnessing life in it's raw infallible beauty" - Joanna McKenzie Enga
